A Controversial Nascar Finish Ended With A Fan Trying To Fight A Driver

With the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series deep into the playoff phase of the championship (yep, that’s still a thing), it’s fair to say things are getting a bit heated.

At Martinsville Speedway the race ended in controversial fashion when Denny Hamlin tried to get past Chase Elliott for the lead with just a few laps to go. But instead of a pass, Hamlin simply punted Elliott out of the way.

At the restart, Kyle Busch went on to win, as a massive accident broke out behind him – with Hamlin once again being involved.

On the cooldown lap, Elliott drove into Hamlin’s car a couple of times – after all, he’d been cost a place in the four-driver shootout for the championship as a result – and the two got out to have a heated chat about things. But there would be no traditional Nascar brawl.

Well, not between the drivers anyway. Once everyone was back in the pits, a furious fan tried to remedy the lack of fighting problem, and went to go and have it out with Hamlin.

Just…wow.
