We all saw it coming, but now it’s official! Alex Albon will stay with Williams for 2023 and beyond.
Despite being in one of the slowest cars on the grid, Albon has proven to be an F1-worthy talent in 2022. So it’s good to see that his hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the Thai driver signing a multi-year contract extension with the team.

After being released from his Red Bull seat at the end of 2020 and sitting on the sidelines last year, Albon has had one heck of a comeback season in the Williams, securing every single one of the team’s points this season!
With his Williams deal only covering 2022 at first, Albon has been questioned as one of Alpine’s options amid the the whole Piastri fiasco (or Piasco, if you’re fancy). However, his extended contract with Williams takes him out the hunt!
I understand that, with my agreement, Williams Racing have put out a press release this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is right and I have signed a contract with Williams for 2023. I will be driving for Williams next year.
