Fernando Alonso got a taste of MotoGP machinery during Honda’s annual ‘Thanks Day’ event at the Motegi circuit in Japan.
Alonso took to the track on a special HRC-liveried Honda RC213V (look, it’s even got his own number on it!) to do some demonstration laps with the 2016 MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez.
It was a pleasure to share track with @alo_oficial! Next time you teach me on four wheels 😉 #HRC #Honda #F1 pic.twitter.com/sBJlvYUKrW

Meanwhile Jenson Button seemed to have sobered up enough from his Abu Dhabi bender and got to sample a GT500-spec Honda NSX, which will no doubt add to the speculation that he’ll be racing in the popular Japanese championship in 2017.
Button also got to drive some laps in Ayrton Senna’s gorgeous championship-winning McLaren MP4/6, much to the delight of the 20,000 fans that turned up to watch the event.
It looks like it’s a tough life being contracted to Honda, but I guess someone has to do it.
