There’s been so many rumours of Fernando Alonso having a sabbatical in 2016, or even joining the World Endurance Championship, but instead it’s a MotoGP bike that the McLaren Honda driver and sunbathing enthusiast has been sampling in the off-season.
Finally Alonso got a taste of a mighty Honda powered machine, the Honda RC213V bike that Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa ride in MotoGP, a bike that set the MotoGP speed record at a ridiculous 350.5kph (217.79mph) during this year’s Qatar MotoGP.
Alonso drove the MotoGP machine at a Honda event in Motegi where he also got to drive the McLaren MP4/6 that took the team to the 1991 Constructors’ Championship and Ayrton Senna to his third and last world title.
