One of the funniest guys in motorsport, Taylor (or Rodney Sandstorm, to give him his proper name) has had a ton of success in sportscar racing in America. Like everyone else, he’s now turning his attention to sim racing, making great use of a full-motion rig. Having the seat actually move around brings an added level of realism although in this case, probably a bit too much realism.
Driving around the Monza Oval in a Nascar on iRacing (an event which grabbed headlines for an less light-hearted reason), Taylor found himself heading towards the wall at high speed in a crash which was so violent that something on his rig actually broke, causing it to tip onto its side.

Most realistic sim out there? @SimCraft. No question. Literally flipped last night going 215mph at Monza. Jokes aside, a minor defect in a non-SimCraft part failed and thankfully is covered under warranty. Replacement parts were overnighted and we’re ready to go back to racing. The question is: does that make Taylor the first person to actually roll over in a sim?
