Arrows had a history of making awesome-looking cars in their 25-year history, and this Arrows A21 is one of the best of the lot. Resplendent in it’s Orange livery, the car was raced during the 2000 season by Jos Verstappen and Pedro de la Rosa.
The A21 was actually a pretty good car, with both de la Rosa and Verstappen often able to run strongly in the points, but unreliability meant that they rarely finished as well as they should have done. Verstappen took the teams best result that year with a strong 4th place at Monza.
This particular car was the last A21 chassis built and was driven by Jos Verstappen towards the end of the season. It was also used for testing in early 2001, when both Johnny Herbert and Mark Webber drove it.
It doesn’t have the Supertec engine it raced with in period (probably a good thing considering it’s unreliability at the time!) but instead has a recently overhauled Hart V10 which is apparently good for nearly 900bhp. That should certainly allow it to reach the high top speeds the A21 was known for!
At £180,000 it’s a lot to spend, but according to the seller it’s totally good to go and comes with everything needed to run the car – spares, pit equipment, team gear, the lot. There’s even a set of moulds for the parts so apparently you could build another one if you wanted to!
