Buemi Just Had A Huge Crash In Formula E Practice

The Formula E championship leader suffered a massive shunt during second practice in Montreal

Renault e.dams driver Sebastien Buemi didn’t get his Formula E weekend in Montreal off to the best start, after a nasty crash in FP2.

The impact was so severe, it damaged the monocoque of his car. Fortunately, he was able to get out of the car unaided.

Buemi had been on a quick lap in second practice but with 10 minutes to go, he clipped the inside barrier at the fast chicane.

With no way of steering, he slammed into the opposite wall, across the track and into the barrier on the corner exit. It was one of the biggest shunts we’ve seen in Formula E.

The session was stopped as a result and later abandoned, due to the amount of debris from Buemi’s car.

The Swiss driver probably feels lucky he has two FE cars, but it left his mechanics with a lot of work to do ahead of Saturday’s race…

Nicolas Prost set the pace in the session, while title contender Lucas di Grassi was P1 in first practice. He enters the weekend 10 points behind Buemi.
