Former Prost Formula One driver, Tomáš Enge was lucky to walk away after this massive accident in the Blancpain Sprint Series.
The Czech driver’s Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 made contact on lap one of the Qualifying Race at the Slovakia Ring and speared into the armco barrier, sending the car into a series of end-over-end flips and rolls. Luckily the car just about stayed within the confines of the circuit and stopped short of a marshals post. The race was red-flagged and luckily there were no injuries – except perhaps to the morale of the Reiter Engineering team, who will now have to try and rebuild the car for Sunday’s Championship Race.
