Esteban Ocon Shunts Heavily In Final Monaco GP Practice

Crashing out of third practice isn’t particularly good timing, especially with qualifying just a few hours away.

That’s what Esteban Ocon did on Saturday morning, right at the end of FP3, after clipping the inside barrier at Turn 15.

He turned in a little bit too early and broke his suspension at the right-hander, which left him unable to turn for the next part of the chicane.

So, his Force India VJM10 went straight on and slammed into the barrier on the exit of the corner with less than 10 minutes to go in FP3.

The crash was very similar to Max Verstappen’s last season.

Ocon’s hit was pretty hefty but the Monaco marshals worked quickly to clear the car and go back to green flag running with a few minutes of practice remaining.

Not the best way to end practice for Ocon, but we’re sure the impressive young driver can bounce back from it.
