Esteban Ocon’s Incredible Finishing Streak Has Come To An End

Macau 2014. That was the last time Esteban Ocon failed to finish a single seater race, 45 races ago.

He set a new F1 record for races finished from the start of his career at COTA, his 26th finish beating Max Chilton’s previous number of 25.

Ocon extended that run to 27 in Mexico, but that has now come to an end after being punted out on the first lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix. Romain Grosjean was on the inside of Ocon into turn six, but lost control of his Haas and oversteered into the Force India.

Ocon tried to get back to the pits and continue the streak, but the damage to his car was too much. Oconsistency is no more.
