Timings for this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix have been rescheduled due to the funeral of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Although the time of the race will remain the same, other sessions on Friday and Saturday have changed.
Friday’s practice sessions will now be held 30 minutes earlier than planned. Saturday’s practice session and qualifying will be an hour earlier.
The new times are as follows:
FP1 – 09:00-10:00 UTC (10:00-11:00 UK Time)
FP2 – 12:30-13:30 UTC (13:30-14:30 UK Time)
FP3 – 09:00-10:00 UTC (10:00-11:00 UK Time)
Qualifying – 12:00-13:00 UTC (13:00-14:00 UK Time)
Race – 13:00-15:00 UTC (14:00-16:00 UK Time)
There will also be a minute of silence ahead of Imola’s qualifying for the F1 community to show their respects to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away on Friday 9th April 2021.
“Formula 1 and the FIA are today setting out changes to the Saturday schedule for the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio Del Made in Italy e Dell’Emila Romagna 2021 out of respect to the funeral service of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh that will take place on Saturday 17th April 2021,” F1 Media said in a statement.
