Formula One cars are no stranger to eBay these days, but it’s rare to find one that was actually raced and still has the original engine in the back. eBay user oxcars is selling this stunning Benetton B188 as used by Alessandro Nannini in the 1988 F1 season, complete with the Ford Cosworth DFR 3.5 V8 engine and being a Benetton, an absolutely stunning livery.
So the car never won a race – although that’s no surprise when the mighty McLaren MP4/4 won 15 out of the 16 races that year – but it did score a podium at that year’s Spanish Grand Prix at the hands of Nannini, and it’s not often you can by an actual Formula One car that raced to a top three finish.
At just under $350,000 it isn’t cheap though.
