Fans of Netflix’s hit show, Drive To Survive, will be delighted to know that F1 has confirmed a new season will be dropping next year. Covering the 2021 season, Drive To Survive will be having a great time capturing one of the best seasons of F1 that we’ve ever seen.
With a tasty championship battle on our hands between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, as well as plenty of drama away from the race track, we can’t wait until the season drops on Netflix early next year.
There has been some speculation that a new series was on the way. We’ve seen plenty of special cameras around the paddock, and the show’s Executive Producer, James Gay-Rees, spoke about what we can expect from Season 4 on the ‘In The Fast Lane’ podcast, hosted by the Australian Grand Prix.
Drive To Survive Season 4…. CONFIRMED
— Formula 1 (@F1) August 26, 2021
“Going into Season 4, the idea is again, what can we do differently this time? You don’t want to repeat yourself, and you don’t want the same characters going through the same journeys every time,” James said back in April.
“I’ve just got off a story call with all the teams, and we’re kicking around the ideas. You’ve got to project where it’s going to go. You have to anticipate where the stories are going to land and appear and try to be in the right place at the right time.
“You can’t film every driver at every race.”
We bet the Netflix gang didn’t expect some of the storylines we’ve had this season so far. From Esteban Ocon winning the Hungarian Grand Prix to Lando Norris being the ‘best of the rest’, it’s sure to be an amazing experience, and we can’t wait to see it next year.
