Sauber have released their 2017 Formula 1 car but fans can’t stop comparing it to the 1996 Ligier.

The first F1 car of 2017 is here! Sauber have released their C36 which celebrates team’s 25th year in Formula 1 with a striking new blue, white and gold livery.
F1 fans though were quick to notice how similar the C36 looked to the Ligier JS43 from the 1996 season…
Ligier are back! Oh wait, it’s the new Sauber… #F1

Sauber C36-Ferrari. A marked improvement on last year’s livery. Not unlike the Ligier JS43. Maybe it will win the Monaco Grand Prix too. 😉 pic.twitter.com/pbUPRdCMOV

Let’s hope it’s not the only retro livery we see this week. We’re looking at you, McLaren.
