Formula One teams have finally agreed on something! In surely a first for the sport, all 11 teams agreed (like most fans do) to end this qualifying nightmare and just return to the 2015 qualifying format that was absolutely fine in the first place.
A letter has been signed and sent to the FIA, Bernie Ecclestone and CVC demanding that F1 return to last year’s qualifying format, believing it’s best for the fans and the sport in general. The letter has come just before a meeting later today which is meant to sort the qualifying mess once-and-for-all.
They’ve got their work cut-out though, as it was revealed at the last meeting (ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix) that the FIA are reluctant to return to the 2015 format and have instead proposed an aggregate qualifying format.
And no one wants to see that, right?
