Fangio’s Ferrari Race Car Sells For $28 Million At Auction

Classic Ferrari’s are always going to sell well at auction. Now imagine a super-rare classic Ferrari where only 290 were made. Now imagine that super-rare classic Ferrari was driven by five-time Formula One World Champion, Juan Manuel Fangio at the legendary Mille Miglia.

You won’t be surprised to hear then that the very car in question sold for a casual $28 million at a recent RM Sotheby’s auction.

This stunning 290 MM, built for the World Sportscar Championship, was driven by Fangio to fourth place at the 1956 Mille Miglia. The race was won by Eugenio Castellotti driving another 290 MM.

The car was bought by a private European collector. A very, very rich private European collector at that.
