What’s twice as good as Formula 1? Formula 2 of course. That’s how numbers work, right? Now the F1 circus has jetted off on its summer holiday, baby brother has stepped-in in virtual form. This isn’t modern Formula 2, no. That’s a thing of the past. This is classic Formula 2 which is a thing of the… now?
Team Radiator Springs have released this sneak preview of their Ferrari 500 mod for Assetto Corsa. This car was Ferrari’s entry into the 1952 and ’53 world championships after it was announced Formula 1 would be run to Formula 2 specifications due to lack of entries and funding available. It certainly did the job too, winning all-but-one of the races in which it was entered and both the 1952 and 1953 championships for driver Alberto Ascari.
With the racing sim being hewn from a solid block of Italian passion, it’s a very fitting mod.
Classic Ferraris not your thing? Well the 2014 F1 mod project over at Formula Corsa is ongoing and has just seen the launch of 0.2 Beta adding the Ferrari F14-T alongside the already released Mercedes W05
