The crash between Scott Dixon and Jay Howard at this year’s Indy 500 was one of the most horrific looking crashes ever seen at Indianapolis but thanks to the incredible IndyCar safety team, both drivers were able to walk away from the crash unscathed.
One person who was particularly grateful was Lucy, a second grade school girl and Scott Dixon fan, who wrote an incredibly sweet letter to IndyCar to thank them for keeping Dixon safe.
Checked out some of the @IndyCar mail. This letter to @scottdixon9 is fabulous. pic.twitter.com/AtwoPgvqav

The letter reads:
“Dear Indycar, I love Scott Dixon, And as you may know he just got in a big crash. So what I wanted to tell you is that Thank you so much for keeping him safe. I saw him limping on TV and just wanted to make sure he was ok. I’ve loved Scott Dixon since I was really little and when I saw the crash I got so scared and started crying. Again, Thank You So Much For Keeping Him Safe!!!”
Dixon himself saw the letter on Twitter and responded.
Lucy what a sweet letter I'm doing really well thank you, @IndyCar work hard to keep us safe. Hope I get a chance to meet you one day. X https://t.co/4erHFgMEcT
