Think Fernando Alonso had the biggest crash at the weekend? Think again.
Goodwood Members’ Meeting is a great way to remember just how awesome old-school race cars were… but it’s also a reminder of just how incredibly dangerous they were too.
Driver Stephen Bond was lucky to survive this accident at the 74th Members’ Meeting when his 1961 Lotus-Climax 18 flipped through the air and down into the fan’s access tunnel below the circuit.
The driver is reported to be recovering in hospital with a broken collarbone and as for the crowd, thankfully no one was walking through the tunnel at the time.
