After spending his entire F1 career with Lotus/Renault, Romain Grosjean is leaving his Enstone buddies to take a punt with new American Formula One team, Haas.

Many assumed the Frenchman would stay with Lotus now the team are to be bought back by Renault but Ro Gro’s move now opens up a seat alongside Pastor Maldonado, which could well trigger this year’s driver market.

Haas are still yet to announce their full line-up, although Gene Haas has said a Ferrari reserve driver will get the second seat, so expect to see Esteban Gutierrez or Jean-Eric Vergne returning to Formula One next year.
