With around a year to go until the first Vietnam Grand Prix, Hermann Tilke's circuit design company has released an onboard lap of what the Hanoi street circuit will look like
It’s not quite the first driver’s-eye view we’ve seen as when the race was announced last year, it only took a couple of days for modders to start adding their versions of the track into racing sims.
It is, however, the first official look, with Tilke’s company launching this video via Motorsport-Magazin.com and giving us a pretty decent idea of the circuit - from an onboard perspective, at least.
Long straights and slow corners dominate the first half of the street circuit (ideal for overtaking) while the final sector - which is being purpose built for the track - is full of interesting high-speed stuff.
There’s a bit of a Korean GP vibe about it - here’s hoping this turns out rather better…
