Here’s How The Belgian GP Starting Grid Will ACTUALLY Look With All Those Penalties

We knew coming into this weekend that we could see a few grid penalties. However, a total of SEVEN drivers have taken big grid drops for engine and gearbox components being changed, and it’s meant the results from qualifying and tomorrow’s starting grid are rather different!

Here’s how the starting grid will look:

(P) = Penalty. For more information on who has what penalties, click here.

1. Carlos Sainz
2. Sergio Perez
3. Fernando Alonso
4. Lewis Hamilton
5. George Russell
6. Alex Albon
7. Daniel Ricciardo
8. Pierre Gasly
9. Lance Stroll
10. Sebastian Vettel
11. Nicholas Latifi
12. Kevin Magnussen
13. Yuki Tsunoda
14. Valtteri Bottas (P)
15. Max Verstappen (P)
16. Charles Leclerc (P)
17. Esteban Ocon (P)
18. Lando Norris (P)
19. Zhou Guanyu (P)
20. Mick Schumacher (P)

Some excellent results here for the likes of Alonso and Albon!

We can’t wait to see how it all unfolds tomorrow!

  • William Brewer says:

I’m interested in seeing if Verstappen can manage P1.
He has very good pace, but that seems like quite the feat.

    • Bottas was “only” a 25-place grid drop because he didn’t change absolutely everything. Everyone else was in the same category of “back of the grid”. So Bottas could’ve done the track in first gear and still started ahead of Max through Mick. Max through Mick, being in the same “back of the grid” level of penalties, start in qualifying order.
