Bad news Red Bull fans. If you thought 2022 was going to be your year, then think again. Honda have made a shock announcement today that they are going to be leaving F1 at the end of the 2021 season, meaning Red Bull and AlphaTauri will be looking for a new engine supplier.
It’s terrible news for Red Bull Racing in particular as it didn’t seem too unlikely that they could challenge for a title together in the future.

Honda promised it would continue in motorsport but said the automobile industry undergoing a “once-in-one-hundred-years period of great transformation” and a “strive for the realisation of carbon neutrality by 2050.” So perhaps a Formula E venture could be on the cards?
Just to rub salt into Red Bull’s wounds, if they don’t manage to find a new engine supplier before 2022, Renault will be obliged to supply them with power units as the manufacturer with the fewest customers.
Well, well, well. How the turntables.
