It’s Official, Nico Hulkenberg Is Off To Renault

After much speculation, rumour and social media trolling, it’s finally been confirmed that Nico Hulkenberg will indeed be moving to Renault for the 2017 season.

Nico Hulkenberg had been set to continue alongside his Force India teammate Sergio Perez for a fourth consecutive season but the team confirmed Hulk’s departure, bringing to an end his second spell with the Silverstone-based team.

Hulkenberg has spent his entire F1 career hopping between midfield teams, starting with Williams before joining Force India, then a year at Sauber before returning to the Force India team.

He now though is hoping Renault will no longer be midfielders when F1 goes through its massive rule change in 2017.

“I’m very happy to join Renault in 2017,” a statement from Hulkenberg read. “It has always been my dream to work for a manufacturer team. F1’s new regulations will change the game and give our team a good opportunity. In the years to come, Renault will play a challenger role, which fits my approach to racing 100%. I can’t wait to become part of the family.”
