Regardless of the series, any incident that happens going into or coming out of the pit lane instantly becomes memorable. There was nothing particularly dramatic about Hunter-Reay’s mistakes – but the crazy thing is that he did in both races of IndyCar’s double-header at Iowa Speedway.
Coming out of the pits during Friday night’s race, he lit up the rear tyres on the pit apron. He was able to correct it, getting away with just a gentle brush on the wall and going on to finish 16th.
Then, during Saturday’s race, he did the exact same thing. Only this time, he wasn’t quite so lucky, he clonked the wall, and was out.
Ryan Hunter-Reay makes the exact same mistake as last night!
This time, @IowaSpeedway is not as forgiving. Take a look at what happened on both nights. #INDYCAR // #Iowa250s on NBCSN pic.twitter.com/DeArDCgkUM
