So last weekend I got to tick a major thing off my bucket list. I’ve done Monaco, I’ve done Le Mans and now I’ve completed the motorsport fan ‘Triple Crown’ with the Indy 500, and holy crap it was incredible!

This year’s Indy 500 was particularly special, the 100th running of the event, and boy did Indianapolis Motor Speedway put on a show for the 350,000 (Yes, three-hundred and fifty thousand!) people who went to Sunday’s race.

The race saw a shock winner, as former Manor driver Alexander Rossi rolled the dice on his fuel strategy and while others pitted in the closing stages, the young American drove it home to victory.

Here was my view of Rossi’s epic victory.

And this is how marginal it was for Rossi, running out of fuel in front of us at Turn 4 on his victory lap.

Rossi made a cool $2.5 million from his victory and more importantly, has put his name in the history books forever. Well done, Sir.
