On the same weekend that Formula One visited one of its best circuits, the flowing and undulating Spa-Francorchamps, so too did the IndyCar series race on its own majestic course. Sonoma Raceway (you’ve probably raced on it under the “Infineon” name in past racing games) isn’t as long as Spa, nor does it travel through the forest, but makes its way through the hilly terrain of the wine country in California. Like Mid-Ohio, it has a reputation for being a follow-the-leader circuit and like Mid-Ohio, that didn’t stop several drivers such as Graham Rahal, Mike Conway and Scott Dixon all making moves for the lead.
Watch above for quarter of an hour of onboard action, 360 degrees of viewing angle and high-definition viewing pleasure as the racey DW12s went up and around, up and under and even saido-bai-saido through elevation changes. Nice.
