If rumours are to be believed, Kubica has pretty much signed to drive for Williams next year, with apparently just a few hurdles with the paperwork to overcome before the contract can be signed.
With the confirmation that he’ll test for the team in Abu Dhabi next week, it definitely looks like (well, unless he ends up doing terribly for some reason) an announcement could be coming soon. Hype.
Kubica will get his first taste of the FW40 on the Wednesday morning before Lance Stroll takes over, and will be back in the car on Thursday afternoon to round out the test.
The other guy taking part will be current Renault reserve Sergey Sirotkin. He’ll drive on Thursday morning as he looks to have followed Robert over from Renault and could even end up with a role in the team next year too.
But of course, the big news is Kubica being chosen to drive the car and not any of the other drivers thought to have been in contention for the seat next year.
IT’S HAPPENING PEOPLE!
