For a bloke that doesn’t say very much out of the car, he sure likes to make a lot of noise when he’s in it. Whether he’s demanding his steering wheel or telling Paul di Resta to stick to reporting, Kimi’s team radio is often comedy gold.
That carried on in the Australian Grand Prix. As the lead Ferrari driver he got to pit first, and was told his pace was OK to retain his second place. So when he was then told he had to push to stay ahead of his teammate, who was running a different strategy with a longer first stint, Kimi pulled out another classic team radio rant.
Of course the Virtual Safety Car meant he dropped behind Vettel anyway, but it was a quietly impressive drive from Kimi. Maybe he’ll end up being competitive this year after all…
