LMP3 Car Suffers Monster Shunt At Monza During ELMS Testing

The European Le Mans Series was in action at the ‘Temple of Speed’ on Tuesday and Wednesday but the opening day of the test involved a huge crash for the M.Racing – YMR LMP3 machine.

Losing control at the entry to Ascari is never going to end well. At those speeds, you’re going to shunt pretty heavily and the Norma M30 of Gwenael Delomier did just that.

His LMP3 prototype spun into the barrier so hard it rolled the car onto its roof. Thankfully it landed on all four wheels again but Delomier was reportedly released from the medical centre with an injury to his vertebrae.

Whether the cause of the crash was a mechanical issue or not, we’re not sure. But, the car was so damaged the M.Racing – YMR car was unable to take part in the second day of testing.
