Manor had already bagged Mercedes power units for 2016 and then went on to unveiled a new logo for the season but something was still missing… oh yeah, the drivers. Well they’ve finally decide to hire one, in the form of Pascal Wehrlein.
Half of you are now saying ‘Who?’ and the other half are saying ‘Well that was obvious’ and that’s because Wehrlein is last year’s DTM champion for Mercedes, something that’ll help strengthen Manor’s new relationship with the German manufacturer.

The 21-year-old German finished second in the Formula 3 Euro Series back in 2012 and has been in DTM ever since as well as test driver for Mercedes’ F1 team… which we all know doesn’t account for a lot these days.
Manor are sure to be in Mercedes’ good books for giving their new young protege a drive, with Autosport even reporting that they’ll get access to the Mercedes windtunnel as part of their deal.
I’m sure there’s a few nervous faces over at McLaren right now…
