Marussia are one step closer to reaching the Melbourne grid after being accepted into the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship on Friday, under the name Marussia Manor F1 Team. The announcement was made after an updated championship entry list was revealed.

Despite not having any links to the Marussia investors now, the team must run the name on the chassis to gain the all-important prize money which Jules Bianchi earned at Monaco last year with his stunning drive into the points.

Will Stevens is confirmed as the team’s first driver, with many names being thrown into the hat regarding the second driver including Kevin Magnussen, Jean-Eric Vergne and the legendary Max Chilton.

The team will hope to make the F1 grid using a modified version of its 2014 car which will need to be in “full compliance with the 2015 Technical Regulations.”

Good luck to them!
