Fernando Alonso isn’t just one of the best F1 drivers on the grid, he’s also the undisputed king of memes. That’s a lot of pressure for young drivers to try and live up to, but McLaren junior Lando Norris seems to be doing a pretty good job.
The 17-year-old was half a lap away from winning the Formula 3 championship at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday when he was taken out of the race, delaying his crowning until the final round in Hockenheim.
After the crash a dejected-looking Norris sat forlornly in the gravel.

Ripe for memeing? You betcha! The internet swiftly moved into action with the PlacesLandoWouldRatherBe hashtag. Here are some of the best efforts.

And of course there’s a video with the Titanic theme, because everything is better with the titanic theme.

Lando Norris. Not only an incredibly talented young driver, but he’s already bossing it when it comes to being a meme. He’ll be just fine when he gets to F1.
