On this day in 1993, Ayrton Senna put in one of the most memorable performances of all-time to win the European Grand Prix
It’s been 25 years since that opening lap at Donington Park in 1993. In wet conditions, Senna started fourth, dropped to fifth, but was leading before the first lap was even over. He almost lapped the whole field on his way to victory and even set the fastest lap by driving through the pit lane.
It was one of Senna’s most iconic performances, and to commemorate the occasion McLaren has put together this emotional tribute video with some of the mechanics and team personnel who worked with Senna at the time.
