McLaren Demoted 105 Places For The Belgian Grand Prix

You’d be excused for thinking it was satire but no, you really did read that properly. McLaren have made yet another engine change on both their cars for the Belgian Grand Prix and as is the case in modern F1, penalties get dished out.

Both Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button have taken on an eighth internal combustion engine on top of multiple other engine parts meaning Alonso will go back 55 places on the grid and Button “just” 50 places back.

Thankfully for the team however, recent changes to the rules mean McLaren will no longer have to take their penalties into future races and because, let’s be honest, they’re a bit rubbish, they only drop two places behind the Manor-Marussias.
