McLaren’s Insane New Road Car Is Named After Senna – WTF1

McLaren’s Insane New Road Car Is Named After Senna

Nope, it’s not a good looking car is it? But McLaren’s new Ultimate Series car isn’t about looks but instead all about lap time.

It’s perhaps fitting then that they’ve named it after the great Ayrton Senna, arguably the fastest F1 driver in history.

It’s road legal, but don’t expect any comforts as this car is entirely track-focused, so much so the car’s philosophy comes from this famous Senna quote.

“You commit yourself to such a level where there is no compromise. You give everything you have; everything, absolutely everything.”

There’ll only be 500 of them available and if you want one, it’ll cost ya £750,000. For that price you get the most powerful McLaren road car engine ever at 789bhp.

It’ll also be the lightest McLaren road car since the ‘F1’ at just 1198kg, so a quick look at these numbers and you can already see that it’s going to be very, very, very fast.
