If we weren’t’ already hyped up for the reveal of the Mercedes W08 on Thursday, we’re even more excited now after the release of these teaser images.
Mercedes has attempted to steal some thunder from Force India’s VJM10 launch later today with the release of some Formula 1 teaser photos.
The extreme close-ups give us a glimpse of the car’s new livery, which appears to mix Mercedes silver and Petronas green with flashes of blue.
It also shows off the W08’s new nose tip design, which seems to follow previous Silver Arrows in not going down the ‘thumb’ route.
We’re sure the colours have been helped by some studio lighting but it certainly looks like Mercedes is doing something different with its new livery.
The car Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will be racing with this year (and likely to be bulletproof, knowing Mercedes) will be launched at Silverstone on Thursday.
The reigning world champion’s reveal takes place from 12.10pm UK time Thursday, with the actual covers coming off the car at 12.30pm.
And after these teaser shots, it’s fair to say we are pretty excited!
Launch week is in full swing now after the reveals of the Sauber C36 on Monday and Renault RS.17 on Tuesday.
