Mick Schumacher’s Got A New Job After Parting Ways With The Ferrari Driver Academy

It’s been a busy morning for Mick Schumacher! After an announcement that he’d parted ways with the Ferrari Driver Academy, he’s now got a new job… and we think you’re going to like it.

Schumi Jr is heading to Mercedes as their Reserve Driver for 2023 🫶

The Schumacher surname is no stranger to the Silver Arrows, as Mick’s father, Michael, came out of retirement to drive for the team for three years between 2010 and 2012.

As part of his Reserve responsibilities at the team, Mick will be at all the races next season and will be kept busy on the simulator at Brackley between Grand Prix.

After losing his Haas F1 seat at the end of the season, and being replaced by Nico Hulkenberg at the team from next year, Mick was left jobless.

However, Toto Wolff had openly expressed their desire to bring him on board, and he’s stuck to his words!

“I am committed to giving it my all to contribute to their performance in this very competitive and professional environment,” Mick said about the news. “I take this as a new start, and I am just excited and grateful to Toto and everybody involved for putting their trust in me.

“F1 is such a fascinating world, and you never stop learning, so I look forward to absorbing more knowledge and putting in all my efforts for the benefit of the Mercedes team.”

We’re happy to see him get an opportunity like this at a top team!
