Well, that didn’t take long! Just moments after Pierre Gasly was announced as going to Alpine alongside Esteban Ocon in 2023, AlphaTauri have now confirmed his replacement. Enter, Nyck de Vries.
That’s right, quick Nyck will be racing full-time in F1 next year! Fresh from his impressive debut in Monza, replacing an unwell Alex Albon at Williams, he’s now signed a deal to race with Yuki Tsunoda at the AlphaTauri team next year.
It’s been heavily rumoured for a week or so, and Nyck even told media that he’d met up with Dr Helmut Marko in the break between the Italian and Singapore races.
welcome to the team, @nyckdevries! 🇳🇱 ✌️ the Dutchman will replace the outbound @pierregasly for 2023!
