Porsche Took Its 919 Tribute Tour To The Streets of New York

Sadly, Porsche’s latest dabble in top-flight sportscar racing has come to an end. At the end of 2017, the German marque followed Audi’s lead and bowed out of the seemingly doomed LMP1-H class in the World Endurance Championship after a third successive championship win.

In late March, Porsche brought the 919 to New York City, alongside its Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, their most powerful hybrid saloon car on the market.

Earlier this week, the German marque released a video on its trip to the ‘Big Apple’ – a city where they broke into the American market nearly 70 years ago – and turned a few heads in the process.

But fear not, the uncensored 919 EVO edition will appear again. Porsche have several more destinations and dates planned for the tour, including stops at the Nürburgring, Spa (again), Goodwood, Brands Hatch and Laguna Seca.

Porsche will also be confirming visits at more cities across the globe with the regulated 919, so keep an eye on their website.
