IndyCar returned to action on the streets of Long Beach last weekend and it featured plenty of thrills and spills.
The Grand Prix of Long Beach is one of the most famous and prestigious races on the IndyCar schedule and it hosted yet another brilliant race on Sunday.
Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver James Hinchcliffe emerged victorious, having challenged at the front for most of the race, to become only the second Canadian – after Paul Tracy – to win in Long Beach.
His nearest challenger Ryan Hunter-Reay ended up slowing with six laps to go, with Hinchcliffe holding off St. Petersburg winner Sebastien Bourdais in a three-lap run to the flag.
Josef Newgarden rounded out the top three to secure his first podium with the Penske team.
Long Beach is always one of the best races of the IndyCar season, it’s mix of long straights and slow corners generate overtaking and incidents.
For anyone who didn’t catch the race, IndyCar puts together great little highlights videos afterwards to get you up to speed. Enjoy all the best moments from the Grand Prix of Long Beach.
