On this day in 1994, Roland Ratzenberger’s Formula One career and life was tragically cut short at the San Marino Grand Prix. The 33 year old Austrian was competing in just his third Grand Prix when he had his fatal crash at Imola.
While there’s very little footage of Ratzenberger’s short F1 career, there are some brilliant videos from his early days and without doubt the best of the bunch is this epic duel with Phillipe Favre at the 1986 Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.
