Red Bull has the most famously ruthless young driver programme in F1. Their list of graduates is impressive. Sebastian Vettel, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Daniel Ricciardo and, of course, Max Verstappen all grew up with Red Bull and are now proven race winners and two of them are world champions.
Of course, many have come and gone from Red Bull’s junior scheme without any success. But the next driver hoping to make a real impression on the team is Enzo Fittipaldi.
That’s right; the Brazillian driver has announced that he has joined the Red Bull family and will compete for Carlin in his second full Formula 2 season.
🇧🇷Estou muito feliz em anunciar que agora faço parte da famÃlia RedBull! Muito obrigado Dr. Marko e Christian Horner pela oportunidade.

🇺🇸I’m very happy to announce that I will be joining the RedBull Family! Thank you Dr. Helmut Marko and Christian Horner for the opportunity! pic.twitter.com/CqglwfVnWk— Enzo Fittipaldi (@enzofitti) November 12, 2022
After making his F2 debut with Charouz this year, Enzo has proven he can pull off pretty incredible results even in a midfield car. He currently lies sixth in the championship, with only the Abu Dhabi finale to come.
Enzo, who’s 21, comes from a family with some very impressive F1 history. Grandad Emerson won two world championships in the 1970s and big brother Pietro is Haas’s reserve and raced for them after Romain Grosjean had his huge Bahrain crash in 2020. Great uncle Wilson, uncle Max Papis and cousin Christian have all raced in F1 too!
Not all of Red Bull’s current F2 drivers will remain with the programme next year, and an announcement of who will be leaving and who their newbies are will be revealed in due time 👀
Is joining the Red Bull Junior Programme a good move for Enzo?
