After Romain Grosjean suggested that everyone in F1 should drive their rental cars on the track between sessions to get more grip on the resurfaced circuit, it turns out it has actually happened. Could 2020 get any weirder?
In a video shared by Lee Mathurin, a garage technician for McLaren, several cars were seen lapping the circuit on Friday evening.

It comes after several drivers, including Lewis Hamilton complained of the “shit” track conditions that impacted running in both FP1 and FP2.
With a lack of support races to help add rubber to the track, F1 have had to rely on this unusual method to help improve conditions come qualifying on Saturday.
