Quadriplegic Ex-IndyCar Driver Gets To Drive At Indianapolis Again Because Science Is Awesome

Back in 2000, IndyCar driver Sam Schmidt suffered a huge crash that would end his career and leave him paralysed from the neck down. Now Schmidt owns an IndyCar team, a team that won the Indy500 with Dan Wheldon in 2011, but not content with just watching, he got back into a car to drive four laps of Indianapolis.

Schmidt  took to the track on Pole Day in a customised Corvette C7 Stingray that can be controlled with head movements and hit a ridiculous 97mph. Science, bitch!
