Santander Could Be About To End Its Sponsorship With Ferrari

Ferrari hasn’t had the easiest of finishes to this year’s Formula 1 season and it seems like things could be about to get worse as it could be about to lose its big money sponsorship from Santander.

The Spanish bank started sponsoring Ferrari in 2010 when Fernando Alonso joined the team and continued to sponsor the Scuderia, even when the Spaniard made yet another one of his bad career moves and joined McLaren-Honda.

According to El Confidencial in Spain, Santander will end its partnership with Ferrari after eight years and an investment of almost €300 million.

It’s been suggested that Santander could continue as a less prominent sponsor but it’s more likely that it will ditch its association with the team altogether.

If Santander does indeed leave the team then we may see an end to the large amounts of white that have featured on the cars in recent years and the return of a classic all-red Ferrari livery.
