Ayrton Senna’s qualifying lap at Monaco in 1988 is consider by many as the greatest lap in Formula One history and you can’t really blame them, over a second quicker than your team-mate is almost unheard of these days… well unless you’re Jules Bianchi.
Senna qualified his McLaren 1.427 seconds clear of his team-mate, a team-mate that happened to be world champion, Alain Prost.
There’s been many tributes on this 20th anniversary of Senna’s death but none are more stunning than this one from McLaren. Just awesome.
