In Formula One if a circuit doesn’t have ten metres of run off area it’s deemed too dangerous, on hillclimbs though cars reach crazy speeds and have absolutely no margin for error.
This video features Alex Summers doing only the second ever sub-35 second lap up the Doune hillclimb course in Scotland. Driving in a super-fast Gould GR61x with the barriers so close to the side of the track, the onboard video looks almost too quick to be real.
