Steve McQueen’s classic 1971 film ‘Le Mans’ has been re-imagined in graphic novel form.
Released in 1971, Le Mans is well known to motorsport fans for the incredible footage and gritty depiction of the world’s most famous race. Sure, the story is naff and it can drag in places, but when you’re watching a Gulf-liveried Porsche 917 going sideways in the rain none of that matters.
Now, 45 years later, the film has been retold in graphic novel format. Artist Sandro Garbo said McQueen came to him in a dream and told him to make it, so he did! Garbo and his team of artists spent three years putting it together and from the look of things, it was definitely worth it.

All the cars from the film have been recreated in incredible detail, and the format definitely lends itself to the drama and cinematography that made the movie such a hit with motorsport enthusiasts.
