Taki Inoue only competed in 18 grand prix but the Japanese driver will be remembered forever thanks to a bizarre moment that happened on this day back in 1995.

At that year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, Inoue quickly rushed to get a fire extinguisher after his car had caught fire before getting struck by the medical car that was driving towards the scene.

This video shows how it all panned out during the live TV broadcast of the race.

This wasn’t his first strange incident though, as earlier that year in Monaco his car was hit by a course car while Inoue was being towed back to the pits in his Footwork, rolling the car into the barriers.

In his 18 grand prix starts, Inoue finished just five races and scored no points.
